Eleven platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in the capital to ensure security and maintain law and order tonight. They will be on duty tonight and tomorrow (Sunday) along with police. Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer of BGB Headquarters confirmed the matter on Saturday evening. He said, two platoons will be deployed at the Secretariat and four at the chief justice's residence, which would remain on duty throughout the night. Besides, one platoon BGB will be deployed at Ramna, two platoons at Motijheel, and two platoons at Paltan area.

রাজধানীতে দিনভর বিএনপি সাথে পুলিশের সংঘর্ষ, দলটির ডাকা সকাল সন্ধ্যা হরতাল ও আওয়ামী লীগের সমাবেশকে কেন্দ্র করে উত্তপ্ত পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশ (বিজিবি) মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে। বিজিবির সদর দপ্তরের জনসংযোগ কর্মকর্তা শরিফুল ইসলাম রাজধানীতে বিজিবি বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি বলেন, কাকরাইলের সংঘর্ষের পর সেখানে চার প্লাটুন বিজিবি মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে। ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশের সঙ্গে ছয় প্লাটুনি বিজিবি সদস্য আইন-শৃঙ্খলা নিয়ন্ত্রনে কাজ করছে। বিজিবি সদর দপ্তর সূত্রে জানাযায়, রাজধানীতে জনগণের নিরাপত্তার স্বার্থে রাত থেকে ১১ প্লাটুন বিজিবি মোতায়েন হয়েছে। এদের মধ্যে রমনায়-১, মতিঝিল-২ ও পল্টনে-২ প্লাটুন বিজিবি টহলে থাকবে। সচিবালয়ে-২ ও প্রধান বিচারপতির বাসভবনের সামনে ৪ প্লাটুন বিজিবি মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে।
