12 killed in explosion outside Islamabad court in Pakistan
At least 12 people were killed and several others injured in a powerful explosion outside a courthouse in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
A day earlier, 13 people were killed in an explosion inside a car near Lal Qila metro station in New Delhi, the capital of India. The explosion occurred on Monday evening in a moving vehicle near the station, injuring many others.
In a statement on Tuesday, November 11, a spokesperson for Islamabad Police said, “We are investigating how the explosion occurred. The matter is not yet clear. Detailed information will be available once the forensic report is received.”
The explosion took place near the entrance of the Islamabad District Court, where crowds of people and visitors gather daily for court-related activities.
Images published in local media showed several bloodied individuals lying on the ground beside a police van. The scene at the site was horrific.
