12th Band Fest to honour Ayub Bachchu to be held on December 1

Channel is set to host its annual Band Fest on 1 December, marking the 12th edition of the event established in memory of the late rock icon Ayub Bachchu.

The broadcaster confirmed the details at a press conference at its studio on Thursday afternoon.

Director and Head of News Shykh Seraj said band music had long inspired young people, noting that "we try every year to honour Ayub Bachchu's vision by celebrating this day". He added that Channel i plans to expand the festival in future and hopes the Ministry of Cultural Affairs will consider recognising a national day for band music.

Universal Medical College Hospital is supporting this year's event. Bands scheduled to perform include Uchcharon, Parthib, Shironamhin, Turjo, Mehrin, Obscure, Feedback, Nirjhor, Starling, Symphony, Nova and Different Touch.
