13 Ansar-VDP members per polling station, 1,191 striking teams nationwide

A total of 555,958 Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) members will be deployed across 42,766 polling stations for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, with 13 personnel assigned to each centre.

In addition, 1,191 striking force teams of the Ansar Battalion will remain on standby across the country to respond to any emergency.

The information was announced on Monday (January 12) by Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury while speaking at the passing-out parade of the 41st BCS Ansar Cadre officers and recruit sepoys at the Ansar and VDP Academy in Sreepur, Gazipur.

The adviser instructed Ansar members not to serve any vested interest during election duty and warned them to refuse any illegal orders. He also inspected the parade and distributed awards among the best-performing trainees.
