13 killed in devastating fire at coaching center in Uttar Pradesh

At least 13 people were killed after a devastating fire broke out at a coaching center in Lucknow, the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

The tragedy occurred in a building located in the northwest Aliganj area. Following the outbreak of the fire, many individuals became trapped inside the premises, forcing several students to jump from the second floor of the building in a desperate bid to save their lives.

Firefighters recovered 13 bodies from the building after battling the flames for over an hour to bring the fire under control.

The three-story building, located in a commercial zone, houses a pet shop and other retail outlets alongside the coaching center.

The coaching center in the Aliganj area is highly popular and typically crowded with students. Numerous students were present for classes on Monday afternoon when the incident occurred. The coaching center was located on the second floor of the building, adjacent to a gaming zone.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have expressed deep condolences over the tragic accident.
