A total of 18 mikes and five coils of wire were reportedly stolen before BNP's public rally started at Chattogram's historic Polo Ground.

While preparing the field, the organizers noticed that several important mikes and coils of electrical wires were missing on Sunday morning.

Abdur Razzak (Owner of Dhaka Raj Sound System) filed a written complaint at Kotwali police station in the morning regarding the theft. He said, "We installed about 200 mikes in the gathering. Last night between 10pm-11pm we checked the line once and left. I had two men patrolling the road for mike's security."

He also said, "In the morning, when we started checking the mikes again, we found that 18 mikes and five coils were stolen."

Later, when the matter was told to BNP leaders, they asked to file a complaint at the police station. "I have filed a police complaint. The missing mikes were fixed 15-16 feet high on the electric pole of the road outside the gate of the rally venue."

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) monitored security by flying drones in the area around the public gathering. Carrying all types of weapons, explosives, inflammable materials and sticks or sharp objects was prohibited. Even traffic was restricted on some roads from Saturday night for the security of the public rally.

When contacted, Aftab Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station, said, "I am under the protocol of Tarique Rahman. I don't know about stealing."
