A series of bomb and gun attacks in Pakistan's southwestern province of Balochistan have killed 193 people, including civilians, security personnel and attackers, in the past two days.

The regional chief minister, Sarfaraz Bugti, said the army said civilians were targeted in several attacks in and around the provincial capital Quetta.

Grenade and gun attacks targeted police and paramilitary installations, prisons and government buildings in 12 cities and towns across the province.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti told a news conference in Quetta that the attackers had been eliminated from all the districts where the attacks took place on Sunday.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), the most active separatist rebel group in Balochistan, claimed responsibility for the attacks in a statement.
