Two people have been killed in a collision between a bus and a pickup van in Rajapur of Jhalakati. The identities of the deceased are not yet known. The accident occurred on Saturday (June 14) afternoon in the Pakapul area of ​​the Rajapur-Bhandaria regional road. Rajapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ismail Hossain confirmed the matter. Eyewitnesses said that a speeding Hanif Paribahan bus coming from the opposite direction hit the pickup van, killing two people on the spot. Traffic on the road was stopped for some time after the accident. Rajapur Fire Service and police reached the spot after receiving information and recovered the bodies.

ঝালকাঠির রাজাপুরে বাস ও পিকআপ ভ্যানের সংঘর্ষে দুইজন নিহত হয়েছেন। শনিবার (১৪ জুন) দুপুরে রাজাপুর-ভাণ্ডারিয়া আঞ্চলিক সড়কের পাকাপুল এলাকায় এই দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। রাজাপুর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মো. ইসমাইল হোসেন এই তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেন। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানায়, একটি পিকআপ ভ্যান ভাণ্ডারিয়া থেকে রাজাপুরে যাচ্ছিল। পথে বিপরীত দিক থেকে আসা দ্রুতগতির হানিফ পরিবহনের একটি বাস পিকআপটিকে সজোরে ধাক্কা দিলে ঘটনাস্থলেই দুইজনের মৃত্যু হয়। দুর্ঘটনার পর কিছু সময়ের জন্য ওই সড়কে যান চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। খবর পেয়ে রাজাপুর ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও থানা পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে মরদেহ উদ্ধার করে। ওসি মো. ইসমাইল হোসেন বলেন, নিহতদের পরিচয় এখনও জানা যায়নি। মরদেহ থানায় আনা হয়েছে। পরিচয় শনাক্তে কাজ চলছে। দুর্ঘটনার বিষয়ে আইনি ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হবে।
