2,664 critical polling centres in Rajshahi division

Rajshahi division has a total of 15,410,103 voters across its eight districts, who will cast their votes at 5,287 polling centres. Of these, 2,664 have been identified as critical (high-risk) centres, while 2,623 are standard polling centres, according to the Rajshahi Range Police.

On Thursday, January 22, the information was confirmed to Views Bangladesh.

The Rajshahi Range Police reported that in Rajshahi district, voting will take place at 561 centres across eight police stations, 63 unions and 12 municipalities. Among these, 322 centres are critical and 239 are standard. The total number of voters is 1,553,327, comprising 751,382 men, 753,938 women, and seven third-gender voters.

In Chapainawabganj district, voting will be held at 515 centres across five police stations, 45 unions and four municipalities. Of these, 342 centres are critical and 173 are standard. The total voter count is 1,413,237, with 711,650 men and 701,587 women. No third-gender voters are registered.

In Naogaon district, 782 polling centres will operate across 11 police stations, 99 unions and three municipalities. Among them, 364 are critical centres and 418 standard. The total number of voters is 2,324,670, including 1,202,228 men, 1,122,424 women, and 18 third-gender voters.

Natore district will host voting at 566 centres across seven police stations, 52 unions and eight municipalities. There are 192 critical centres and 374 standard centres. Total voters number 1,459,734, with 730,543 men, 729,191 women and no third-gender voters.

In Pabna district, voting will take place at 702 centres across 11 police stations, 74 unions and nine municipalities. Among these, 269 centres are critical and 433 standard. The total voter count is 2,263,978, comprising 1,142,808 men, 1,121,153 women, and 17 third-gender voters.

Sirajganj district will hold voting at 923 centres across 12 police stations, 83 unions and seven municipalities. Among them, 462 are critical and 461 standard. The total voter count is 2,667,807, including 1,346,775 men and 1,321,032 women. No third-gender voters are registered.

Bogra district will host voting at 983 centres across 12 police stations, 109 unions and 12 municipalities. Of these, 500 are critical centres and 483 standard. Total voters number 2,956,527, comprising 1,467,775 men, 1,488,732 women, and 42 third-gender voters.

Joypurhat district will hold voting at 255 centres across five police stations, 32 unions and five municipalities. Among them, 216 are critical and 39 standard centres. Total voters number 808,823, including 410,067 men, 477,803 women, and 94 third-gender voters.

The Rajshahi Range Police said additional preparations have been made for critical centres.

Superintendent of Police, Md Anwar Zahid, told Views Bangladesh that all information is available on Google.

Regional Election Officer Md Anisur Rahman said the election is approaching, and candidates are actively campaigning. District commissioners and returning officers in Rajshahi are performing their duties properly, and candidates have been instructed to conduct campaigns in an orderly manner.

He added that security considerations are taken into maximum account eight days before polling begins.
