3 police officers withdrawn from Mohammadpur Police Station in Dhaka

Three police officers have been withdrawn from Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital over allegations of involvement in unauthorised financial transactions while performing duty in plainclothes.

The officers include the in-charge of the station’s civil team, two sub-inspectors (SIs), and one assistant sub-inspector (ASI).

The order was issued on Thursday (April 30) by Amir Khasru, deputy police commissioner (Headquarters and Administration) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The withdrawn officers are SI Sadhan Mondal, in-charge of the civil team at Mohammadpur Police Station, SI Rezaul Karim Reza, and ASI Sohel Rana.

The transfer order states that they have been attached to the DMP Headquarters and Administration Department’s Central Reserve (Lines) for administrative reasons and in the public interest.
