3 US soldiers killed in Iran operation

Three US soldiers have been killed in the ongoing operation in Iran, Al Jazeera reported.

According to US military sources, five more US soldiers were seriously injured during the incident.

US Central Command said in a statement, "Three soldiers were killed and several other service members were injured in an ongoing operation in Iran. They are currently recovering and returning to duty. The operation is still ongoing and our response is ongoing."

The statement also said, "The situation is currently evolving. Therefore, out of respect for the families, we are not releasing the identities of our fallen soldiers, including details. This information will be released 24 hours after notifying the kin."

Earlier, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that it had fired four ballistic missiles at the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln. However, a US official claimed that the missiles did not hit the warship.
