3 vehicles torched in Banasree over death of domestic help
Agitated locals have vandalised a residence and torched three private vehicles during a clash with police over the death of domestic help in capital's Banasree on Sunday morning (December 31).
The violence occurred at House No 32 on Road No 4 in the D-Block around 10:30 am on Sunday.
Confirming the matter, Rampura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moshiur Rahman said, "A team of police went to the spot at 8.00 am over information about the death of the female domestic help, Asma Begum, 33. Centering the death, locals of the area gathered in front of the house."
"They (locals) obstructed police to recover the body which triggered the clash. At one stage, the locals set three private cars parked at the garage of the house on fire," the OC added.
