30 more Palestinians killed in Gaza, Jabalia residents flee under Israeli threat
At least 30 more Palestinians have been killed across the besieged Gaza Strip amid continuous Israeli airstrikes and ground assaults. Meanwhile, residents of Jabalia in northern Gaza are fleeing in panic as the Israeli military issues threats to forcibly evacuate civilians from 16 neighborhoods in the area.
According to Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera, 25 people were killed between Tuesday morning and evening in Israeli attacks on Gaza City alone. The remaining 5 fatalities occurred in northern, central, and southern parts of Gaza. Among the dead and wounded were Palestinians who had gathered near food and aid distribution points at the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) centers.
The Gaza Ministry of Health reports that, since the war began on October 7, 2023, a total of 58,416 Palestinians have been killed and 139,277 injured. Women and children account for 56% of the casualties. During this period, Israeli forces have killed more than 20,000 children in Gaza.
Medical sources said that at least three Palestinians were killed near Shaban Al-Raees School in the Tuffah area of eastern Gaza City. Fourteen more are believed to be trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes. Four additional bodies were brought to Al-Ahli Hospital following a separate airstrike on a house in the Zeitoun neighborhood.
Lebanon’s state media reported that at least 12 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a refugee camp in Baalbek.
Meanwhile, fear and chaos have gripped residents of Jabalia as the Israeli army issued threats to forcibly remove civilians from 16 neighborhoods in northern Gaza.
Al Jazeera reports that people are evacuating the area using any means available, including cars and donkey carts. Many are fleeing with no clear destination, and due to a lack of fuel, transportation has become difficult. The situation is described as highly chaotic and terrifying.
The Israeli military, on the other hand, claims to have destroyed a tunnel in the Khan Younis area, which they say contained sleeping quarters and weapons used by Palestinian fighters.
