31.93 percent votes cast in 4.5 hours in 6 constituencies of Naogaon
An average of 31.93 percent votes were cast in the six constituencies of Naogaon in the four and a half hours since the start of voting. District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam confirmed this information at 12:30 pm on Thursday.
He said that 33 percent votes were cast in Naogaon-1 constituency, 37.56 percent in Naogaon-2 constituency, 32.25 percent in Naogaon-3 constituency, 37 percent in Naogaon-4 constituency, 23 percent in Naogaon-5 constituency and 28.80 percent in Naogaon-6 constituency. This figure does not include postal ballots.
The 13th National Parliament elections and referendum began simultaneously in 782 centers in 6 constituencies of the district from 7:30 am. The presence of voters has been observed at various centers since the morning. Male and female voters are standing in line peacefully to cast their votes.
Law enforcement forces have been deployed in and outside the center to ensure a fair and peaceful election. Members of the police, RAB and army are performing their duties as a striking force. In addition, mobile teams are also active. So far, no untoward incident has been reported in the district.
A total of 32 candidates from different parties including BNP, Jamaat and independents are contesting in the six constituencies of the district. The total number of voters in these six constituencies is 2,329,592. Out of these, 1,159,764 are males, 1,169,807 are females and 21 are third gender voters.
