35 candidates withdraw nominations in Khulna, 201 confirmed

A total of 35 candidates have withdrawn their nominations in the Khulna division for the thirteenth national parliamentary election. After the withdrawals, 201 candidates remain final across 36 constituencies in 10 districts of the Khulna division. The information was confirmed on Tuesday, January 20, by the Khulna Regional Election Officer’s Office.

In Khulna district, five candidates withdrew. They are Firozul Islam of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis from Khulna-1, Shahidul Islam of Khelafat Majlis from Khulna-2, FM Harun Or Rashid of Khelafat Majlis from Khulna-3, Kabirul Islam of Jamaat from Khulna-4, and Abdul Kaiyum Jamaddar of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis from Khulna-5.

In Satkhira district, three candidates withdrew. They are GM Salauddin of AB Party and Shafiqul Islam Shahed of LDP from Satkhira-2, and HM Golam Reza of Gono Odhikar Parishad from Satkhira-4.

Six candidates withdrew in Bagerhat district. They are Amir Mamunul Haque of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis from Bagerhat-1, independent candidate MA Salam, Naser Iqbal of Khelafat Majlis, and Ramiz Uddin of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis from Bagerhat-2, and Md Zulfikar Hossain of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis and Md Rahmatullah of NCP from Bagerhat-3.

In Jashore district, three candidates withdrew. They are independent candidate Abul Hasan Jahir from Jashore-1, Khaled Saifullah of NCP from Jashore-3, and independent candidate Farhan Sajid from Jashore-4.

In Narail district, three candidates withdrew. They are Abdur Rahman of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis and independent candidate Gazi Mahabubur Rahman from Narail-1, and Abdul Hannan Sardar of Khelafat Majlis from Narail-2.

In Magura district, two candidates withdrew. They are Mohammad Fayezul Islam of Khelafat Majlis from Magura-1, and Md Mizanur Rahman of Gano Forum.

In Jhenaidah district, two candidates withdrew. They are Asaduzzaman of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis from Jhenaidah-1, and Mujahidul Islam of AB Party from Jhenaidah-3.

In Chuadanga district, five candidates withdrew. They are Abdullah Al Mamun of AB Party, Molla Faruk Ehsan of NCP, Hasanuzzaman of Islami Andolan from Chuadanga-1, Alamgir Hossain of AB Party from Chuadanga-2, and Nur Hakim of Bangladesh Congress.

In Kushtia district, five candidates withdrew. They are Arifuzzaman and Abdul Hamid of Khelafat Majlis from Kushtia-2, Sirajul Haque of Khelafat Majlis from Kushtia-3, Abu Bakkar Siddiq of AB Party from Kushtia-4, and independent candidate Sheikh Sadi.

Additionally, Sohel Rana of NCP withdrew his nomination from Meherpur-1.

After the withdrawals, 201 candidates remain final across 36 parliamentary constituencies in the Khulna division.
