Bangladesh Cricket Board has formed a three-member election commission for the 2026 BCB Board of Directors election, the board said in a press release on Wednesday (May 13). Senior Advocate Ahsanul Karim has been appointed chief election commissioner. Md Israil Howlader, commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police, has been made a member of the commission. Another member is ABM Ehsanul Mamun, deputy secretary and director (Planning and Development) of the National Sports Council. The election commission will oversee and conduct all necessary activities related to the 2026 BCB Board election in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations. Letters have already been sent to councillors, with May 16 set as the deadline for submission.

বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের (বিসিবি) আসন্ন পরিচালনা পর্ষদ নির্বাচনের জন্য তিন সদস্যের একটি নির্বাচন কমিশন গঠন করা হয়েছে। বুধবার (১৩ মে) এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তির মাধ্যমে বিসিবি এই তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছে। কমিশনের প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার হিসেবে নিয়োগ পেয়েছেন সুপ্রিম কোর্টের সিনিয়র আইনজীবী আহসানুল করিম। কমিশনের অন্য দুই সদস্য হলেন গাজীপুর মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের কমিশনার মো. ইসরাইল হাওলাদার এবং জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদের পরিচালক (পরিকল্পনা ও উন্নয়ন) ও সরকারের উপসচিব এ বি এম এহসানুল মামুন। ঘোষিত এই নির্বাচন কমিশন প্রচলিত বিধান অনুযায়ী ২০২৬ সালের বিসিবি বোর্ড নির্বাচনের যাবতীয় কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা ও তদারকি করবে। বিসিবির পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়েছে যে, ভোটার তালিকার জন্য কাউন্সিলরদের কাছে ইতিমধ্যেই চিঠি পাঠানো হয়েছে এবং কাউন্সিলর মনোনয়নের জন্য ১৬ মে পর্যন্ত সময়সীমা নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে।
