4 dead, dozens injured in Chicago mass shooting

A shooting outside a lounge in Chicago’s downtown River North neighborhood left four people dead and at least 14 others injured, police reported.

According to authorities, the gunfire came from a moving vehicle on Chicago Avenue, targeting a crowd gathered near the lounge.

Among the deceased are two women and two men. The injured include 13 women and five men, aged between 21 and 32. Hospital officials said at least three victims remain in critical condition as of Thursday.

The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the shooting, and no arrests have been made so far. Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling appealed to the public for any information and urged witnesses to come forward discreetly.

Local media noted that popular rapper Melo Bax had hosted a private event on Wednesday night to celebrate the release of his new album.

Superintendent Snelling confirmed that investigators are actively working to determine the motive behind the shooting.
