4 earthquakes shake Bay of Bengal within 90 minutes
Four earthquakes were recorded in the Bay of Bengal on Tuesday night, occurring within a span of just one and a half hours.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the first quake struck around 9:45 PM, approximately 275 kilometers from Port Blair in the Andaman Islands, at a depth of 10 kilometers below the sea bed. This initial tremor measured a magnitude of 5.0.
Subsequently, three more quakes followed in nearby areas, registering magnitudes of 5.0, 4.9, and 4.6 respectively. The last earthquake was reported around 11:15 PM.
Authorities confirmed that no tsunami warnings have been issued and there have been no reports of casualties or damage related to these seismic events.
