4 journalists were attacked while collecting news about the illegal occupation of forest land by cutting down trees in Gazipur. At that time, miscreants snatched the cameras of 4 journalists. They broke the mobile sets and motorcycles they were using.

Journalist Ruknuzzaman Khan, who was attacked, filed a case with Joydebpur Police Station on Saturday in this incident in the Nayanpur Karitala area of ​​Sadar Upazila of Gazipur.

Journalist Ruknuzzaman Khan, the plaintiff in the case, said, "After receiving the news of the illegal occupation of forest land by cutting down trees, I went to the Nayanpur Karitala area with 3 colleagues named Milon Sheikh, Nazrul Islam and Russell Sheikh. Seeing us, 10-15 people from the area, including Shahabul Islam, his son Abdullah Nirob, Nayeem Mia and their associate Akbar Al, son of the deceased Abdul Rahman, attacked us. They snatched our cameras and broke them. They took away our mobile sets and broke them. They beat us up. Four of us were injured in this.

Joydebpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Halim said that Ruknuzzaman Khan filed a case on Saturday against Shahabul Islam (58), his son Abdullah Nirob (20), Nayeem Mia (28), their associate Akbar Ali (50), son of the deceased Abdul Rahman, and 10-15 unidentified accomplices of Nayanpur Baraitoli area of ​​Gazipur upazila. We are conducting a drive to arrest the accused.

It was not possible to get the statement of the accused in this regard. They could not be reached despite attempts to contact them.
