Police in Hyderabad, India, have recovered 414 cooking gas cylinders hidden in a graveyard. Ten people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to a Reuters report, a syndicate was planning to hoard the cylinders and sell them on the black market by exploiting the recent supply crisis.

A senior official of India's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said gas supply has been disrupted due to the ongoing situation involving Iran. Some dishonest traders are taking advantage of this to illegally hoard cylinders.

Official Sujata Sharma said nearly 2,600 raids have been conducted across the country recently, during which about 700 cylinders were seized. As part of these operations, a large number of cylinders were recovered from the Hyderabad graveyard.

Police said the estimated value of the recovered cylinders and related vehicles is about 2.2 million rupees. Legal action is being taken against those involved, and the concerned distributor has been temporarily suspended.
