50 Israeli fighter jets rain hellfire on Tehran bunkers
The Israeli military said that 50 fighter jets took part in the operation to destroy the underground bunker of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
A statement by military spokesman Avichai Adraei said that about 50 air force warplanes raided the bunker, which was built as a highly secure place from which Iran's supreme leader conducted war-related matters.
Avichai Adraei added that "even after Khamenei's assassination, senior officials of the Iranian regime continued to use this complex."
The Israeli military claims that this underground bunker spanned an entire street in the center of Tehran and had rooms designated for meetings of senior Iranian officials, which were connected by several entrances.
