572 admitted with dengue in one day

A total of 572 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours, from 8:00am on Friday to 8:00am on Saturday. No deaths were reported during this period. As a result, the total number of dengue-related deaths this year remains at 377.

The information was disclosed in a statement issued by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Saturday, November 29.

Of the newly admitted patients, 90 were from Barishal Division, 132 from Chattogram Division, 116 from Dhaka Division (outside the city corporations), 132 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 67 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 32 from Mymensingh Division, and 3 from Sylhet Division.

During this time, 570 patients recovered and were discharged. This brings the total number of recovered patients this year to 91,222.

According to the DGHS, 93,766 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals so far this year, while 377 deaths have been recorded.

In 2024, a total of 101,214 people were hospitalised with dengue and 575 deaths were reported. In 2023, dengue claimed 1,705 lives and infected 321,179 people.
