6 Bangladeshis, including 2 women, held in Malaysia

Malaysian police arrested six Bangladeshi nationals, including two women, from a coconut plantation in the Kampung Tualang 7 area during a special crime prevention operation on Thursday night, August 7.

Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner of Ipoh District Police, confirmed the arrests, stating the detainees are aged between 32 and 49 years. He added that two women and two men are suspected of lacking valid travel documents.

The arrests took place at approximately 7:30 pm during a targeted patrol aimed at combating serious crimes. Authorities have accused the individuals of involvement in prostitution and human trafficking.

Police also seized evidence from the scene. A formal case has been filed under Section 372B of the Malaysian Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
