An additional 60 Palestinians have been killed and at least 343 injured in Israeli attacks across Gaza in the past 24 hours. In addition, three more have died from forced starvation and malnutrition in the besieged enclave.

The Gaza Health Ministry said that the death toll in the last 22 months of the war that began on October 7, 2023, has reached 62,064, with at least 156,573 injured. On the other hand, 266 people have died of starvation in the famine-stricken enclave, 112 of whom are children.

Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported that as of Tuesday evening (August 18), 31 of the dead had died while collecting humanitarian aid at the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) relief center, and 197 were injured. With this, the number of people killed by Israeli soldiers while receiving aid since May 27 has increased to 1,996 and more than 14,898 have been injured.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked a camp in Gaza, killing 1,200 Israelis and taking 251 hostages. About 50 prisoners are still being held in Gaza. At least 20 of them are believed to be alive. Israel is continuing its military operation across Gaza, claiming to rescue them.

Despite the ceasefire announced on January 19 of this year under pressure from the United States and other mediating countries, the IDF has been conducting military operations again since March 18. So far, 10,518 Palestinians have been killed and 44,532 injured in this second phase of operations.
