7 players, including two expatriates, dropped from national football team squad

The national football team is currently training ahead of the FIFA Asian Cup, with several expatriate and foreign-born players joining the local players in the camp. Head coach Thomas Doley has been assessing them in different ways.

In the meantime, seven players have been dropped from the preliminary squad.

Among those released from the national team camp are two expatriate players, Yasar and Debjit. The others are Kazem Shah, Isa Faisal, Taj Uddin, Rahul and Swadhin.

National team manager Amirul Islam Babu confirmed the development.
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has announced the schedule for Bangladesh’s first-ever participation in the ASEAN Cup, which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from September 24 to October 4.

Bangladesh have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Group B comprises Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Pakistan.

Bangladesh will begin their group-stage campaign against Malaysia. The match will kick off at 3pm Bangladesh time on September 25 at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

Bangladesh will then face Singapore at the same venue and at the same time on September 28.

Bangladesh’s final group-stage match will be against Indonesia. The game will begin at 6:30pm on October 1 at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
