72 more Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza
At least 72 more Palestinians, including the civilians came for aid, have been killed in the besieged Gaza Strip amid continuing Israeli aerial bombardments and drone strikes, reports Al Jazeera.
Since the early hours of Sunday, at least 47 people have died in Israeli air raids targeting Gaza City and northern areas. The attacks hit densely populated districts, including Zeitoun, Sabra, and the Al-Zawiya market area, causing widespread devastation.
Following the strikes, hundreds of injured civilians, many of them women and children, flooded into Al-Ahli Hospital in northern Gaza. Journalist Moath al-Kahlout, reporting from the scene, described a chaotic situation with the wounded lying on the floor due to lack of space, as the hospital struggles to cope with the overwhelming number of casualties.
Israel had earlier dropped leaflets urging residents in eastern Gaza to relocate south, but the bombardments resumed immediately after the warnings, exacerbating the crisis and causing further loss of life.
Additionally to those killed in Gaza City, at least five Palestinians were reported dead in a humanitarian distribution center north of Rafah, where the US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) was distributing aid.
The Gaza Health Ministry, as reported by Anadolu Agency, confirmed that the total number of Palestinians killed in Israel's offensive since October 7, 2023, has now surpassed 56,500. The number of injured individuals has reached 133,419, with the situation in Gaza continuing to deteriorate rapidly.
