743 Palestinians killed so far while collecting food at Gaza aid centers
In Gaza, 743 Palestinians have died so far while attempting to collect food from aid centers managed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a US-based organization supported by Israel. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 4,891 others have been injured. This information was released on Saturday.
GHF began distributing aid in the last week of May. According to local sources and Al Jazeera, Israeli forces and GHF security personnel fired guns and threw stun grenades at these centers. Many of the injured have gunshot wounds.
Al Jazeera’s Gaza reporter, Hani Mahmud, said that people were standing in line hoping to receive food. They had come to collect food packages for family members who had not eaten for a long time.
Meanwhile, as part of ceasefire talks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is sending representatives to Qatar. But the attacks have not stopped. Early Sunday, 27 more Palestinians were killed in an Israeli attack in Gaza.
In the past 24 hours, at least 78 Palestinians died in Israeli attacks. The number of deaths and injuries is increasing in places like Tufa and Khan Yunis.
Several US security personnel have accused GHF of violence against Palestinian civilians at the aid centers. However, GHF has denied these allegations.
It is worth noting that the US government under former President Donald Trump recently promised a $30 million donation to GHF.
