75 more Palestinians killed in Gaza in Israeli attacks, three die of starvation

Another 75 Palestinians were killed and at least 370 injured in a single day in attacks by Israeli forces across Gaza. In addition, three more people have died from forced starvation and malnutrition in the besieged valley.


The Gaza Health Ministry said that the death toll in the last 22 months since the war began on October 7, 2023, has reached 62,819, with at least 158,629 injured. On the other hand, 303 people have died of starvation in the enclave declared by the United Nations to be in full-scale famine, 117 of whom are children.


Citing medical sources, Turkish media outlet Anadolu reported that 58 of the dead lost their lives to shelling by Israeli forces from dawn to dusk on Tuesday (August 26). Meanwhile, five journalists were killed in an Israeli attack on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, at noon. Gaza's government media office said a total of 21 people were killed in the bomb attack on the largest hospital in the valley. 


The remaining 17 people were killed and 184 injured by Israeli soldiers' live ammunition while collecting humanitarian aid at the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) relief center. This brings the number of aid seekers killed since the establishment of the Israeli- and US-backed GHF on May 27 to 2,140, ​​and more than 15,799 injured.


On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked the Gaza Strip, killing 1,200 Israelis and taking 251 hostages. About 50 are still being held captive in Gaza. At least 20 of them are believed to be alive. Israel is continuing its military campaign across Gaza, claiming to rescue them.


Despite announcing a ceasefire on January 19 of this year under pressure from the United States and other mediating countries, Israel has been conducting military operations again since March 18. So far, 10,975 Palestinians have been killed and 46,588 injured in this second phase of the campaign.
