Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hossain has revealed that he has received only 25 per cent of his agreed payment for participating in the latest edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, representing Dhaka Capitals.

Speaking to reporters at the launch of his new business venture, Nasir said 75 per cent of his remuneration is still pending. “No, I’ve received only 25 percent. The remaining 75 percent is still due,” he stated, expressing concern over franchises without adequate financial capacity being awarded teams.

Highlighting the broader impact, Nasir warned that delayed payments harm Bangladesh cricket’s international reputation. “Foreign players come here, and if payments are delayed, they share their experiences abroad, saying Bangladesh’s payment system is poor or franchises are unreliable. That affects our reputation,” he said.

He added that players have been communicating with franchise management through their team group, receiving repeated assurances that payments will be made “tomorrow” or “the day after.”

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has informed players that any outstanding dues will be covered using the franchise’s bank guarantee if payments are not cleared by the end of the month. “Mithu bhai assured us. If the franchise fails, the bank guarantee will be used to settle our dues,” Nasir said.

Urging stricter oversight, Nasir called on the BCB to carefully vet franchise owners in future seasons. “Otherwise, at some point, it may feel like the standard of the BPL has fallen below even local neighbourhood cricket,” he warned.
