8 artists to perform in tribute to Bappa Mazumder

A special musical tribute will be held in honour of renowned Bangladeshi singer, composer and music director Bappa Mazumder. Titled "Celebrating Bappa Mazumder", the event is scheduled to take place on Friday (24 July) at Jatra Biroti in Banani, Dhaka.

Bappa Mazumder will attend the event in person, while eight artists from the younger generation will perform some of his most popular songs in his presence. The performers are Joy Shahriar, Elita Karim, D-Rockstar Shuvo, Khaiyam Sanu Sandhi, Karishma Sanu Sabhyata, Yusuf Ahmed Khan, Farhin Khan Joyita, and Sayemul Islam Riyad.

According to the organisers, Bappa Mazumder has made an outstanding contribution to Bengali music. Through timeless hits such as Pori, Dhulo Pora Chithi, Rater Train, Kokhono Ichchhe Hoy and Din Bari Jay, he has earned a special place in the hearts of listeners over the past several decades. The event has been organised as a tribute to his musical legacy.
