8 platoons BGB deployed in Bogura ahead of by-election
Eight platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in the Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency to maintain law and order ahead of the by-election.
According to sources, these BGB members will perform duties in the constituency for 10 days from April 2 to April 11. They will remain in the field as a striking force before, during and after the election, conducting patrols and overall security operations.
The BGB members have already taken positions at three base camps in Bogura Sadar upazila and have begun field-level duties from Friday, April 3.
Bogura-6 constituency Returning Officer Fazlul Karim confirmed the matter, saying BGB members will perform duties to maintain law and order during the election period. They will remain deployed in the constituency from April 2 to April 11.
Alongside other law enforcement agencies, the BGB is playing a vital role in ensuring a fair and peaceful election.
