83rd Golden Globe Awards: ‘Hamnet’ and ‘One Battle After Another’ triumph
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California, USA, in the early hours of Monday, January 12, Bangladesh time. This year’s ceremony featured anticipated winners as well as some surprises. According to Variety, the winners in major categories are as follows:
Film category
The best film in the drama category went to Hamnet. In the musical or comedy category, One Battle After Another won the award for best film. Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters was recognised as the best animated film.
The best non-English language film award went to Brazil’s The Secret Agent, with Wagner Moura winning best actor (drama) for the same film.
Paul Thomas Anderson won best director for One Battle After Another. In the drama category, Jesse Buckley won best actress for her performance in Hamnet.
In the musical or comedy category, Rose Byrne was named best actress for If Hads Lets I Would Kick You, and Timothée Chalamet won best actor for Mary Supreme. The award for best original song went to Golden from the animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Television category
In television, the best drama series went to HBO Max’s The Pit. The best musical or comedy series was Apple TV’s The Studio.
The best limited series or television film award went to Netflix’s Adolescence.
