The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has once again conducted a raid at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

A four-member ACC team arrived at the BCB office located at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur around noon on Saturday (May 17). The exact reason behind the raid was not immediately known.

A special three-member ACC team had carried out a raid at the BCB based on allegations of corruption in ticket sales during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and other issues earlier, on April 15. At that time, ACC officials revealed that although a Tk 15 crore budget was approved for a program held during Mujib Borsho (Mujib Year), BCB showed expenditures of Tk 25 crore. So far, the BCB has only been able to provide proof for Tk 7 crore in expenses, while another Tk 2 crore was accounted for verbally.

There are also ongoing investigations—according to speculation—regarding the participation of controversial clubs in the Third Division cricket selection process, alleged financial embezzlement, and the possible involvement of former BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon and director Ismail Haider Mallick.
