Actor Manna’s 18th death anniv today
It has been 18 years since the loss of the popular hero of Bengali cinema, Manna. On February 17, 2008, Manna left this beautiful world, plunging the entire countrymen, including the film industry, into a sea of sorrow.
Manna was born on April 14, 1964, in Elenga, Kalihati, Tangail. His full name was Syed Mohammad Aslam Talukder. Manna passed the Higher Secondary Examination in a local college in his area and enrolled in Dhaka College for graduation.
In 1984, he entered the world of Bengali cinema through the FDC's New Face Search Program.
Nayakraj Razzak gave Manna his first opportunity in a film. He made his debut on the big screen with 'Tauba'.
The first released film he acted in was 'Pagli'. In 1991, Manna worked as a solo hero in the film 'Kasem Malar Prem' directed by Mostafa Anwar. As the film was a commercial success, Manna did not have to look back.
After that, it became easy for him to establish himself as a solo hero through the films 'Danga' and 'Traas' directed by Kazi Hayat. 'Andho Prem' directed by Mustafa Anwar, 'Prem Deewana' directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar, 'Disco Dancer', and 'Deshdrohi' directed by Kazi Hayat, the films firmly established Manna's position.
In 1999, Manna worked in superhit films like 'Ke Amar Baba', 'Amma Jaan', and 'Lal Badsha'.
