Popular television and film actor Tinu Karim has been placed on life support following a sudden deterioration in his health.

He was admitted to a hospital in the capital on Wednesday (December 3) after his condition worsened unexpectedly.

His wife, Humayra Naushin, told the media that Tinu Karim had been under treatment since 24 November. Earlier, on November 8, he fell ill while visiting his hometown in Barishal. As his oxygen level dropped rapidly, he was rushed to Dhaka and admitted to an ICU.

A slight improvement in his condition led doctors to shift him from the ICU to a cabin two days ago. However, on Wednesday, his blood pressure and sugar levels dropped sharply, causing him to lose consciousness. His condition turned critical once again, prompting doctors to return him to the ICU and eventually place him on life support.

Tinu Karim began his acting career in 2001 with the drama 'Sakkhor'. Over the next two decades, he appeared in numerous popular television dramas and commercials, including 'Raat Jaga Phool' and 'Alta Banu'. He made his big-screen debut in 2010 with the film 'Opekkha'.
