Actress Karina Kaysar on life support

Content creator and actress Karina Kaysar has been placed on life support at Evercare Hospital in the capital following a deterioration in her health.

Her father, Kaysar Hamid, a former national footballer, confirmed the news to the media on Saturday, May 9. The situation became critical after Karina was diagnosed with liver failure caused by infections and pre-existing conditions.

The actress, also known for her screenwriting, had been suffering from complications related to her liver. Prior to her current health crisis, she was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital.

"She previously had fatty liver and was negligent about taking her medication properly. Then she suddenly developed an infection and also contracted Hepatitis-A, which led to liver failure," her grieving father said. He added that the downturn in her health prompted doctors to place her on life support on Friday night.

Meanwhile, popular content creator Kamrun Nahar Dana also shared an update on social media, stating that Karina has been diagnosed with both Hepatitis-A and Hepatitis-E. The viral infections caused her liver to fail, leading to the critical condition. Her family is reportedly seeking options to take her abroad for better treatment.

Karina Kaysar gained widespread recognition for her work in the Chorki original series 'Internship' and the film '36-24-36'.
