Actress Rina Rahman no more

Actress Rina Rahman, a familiar face on the screen, is no more. She passed away on Monday, August 3, at 9pm. The news was confirmed through a message on social media by the country's actors' organisation, Abhinayashilpi Sangha Bangladesh.

The organisation expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul's eternal peace.

Various sources said Rina Rahman had been suffering from various physical complications for a long time. Despite her illness, she continued her work regularly. However, due to deteriorating health, the veteran actress had become somewhat irregular in her work recently. Until her death, she was performing in the popular television serial 'Parampora'.

Over her long acting career, Rina Rahman had captivated audiences with her performances in diverse roles on television, film and stage. Her notable works include the timeless BTV drama 'Sangsaptak' (1987), the films 'Ghani' (2006), 'Thikana' (1994), and the popular television serial 'Man Obhiman'. Her sudden demise has cast a pall of gloom over the country's cultural arena.
