Afghanistan announces 17-member squad for Asia Cup T20

Afghanistan has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup T20, with star leg-spinner Rashid Khan returning to lead the side.

Ibrahim Zadran, Sharfuddin Ashraf, and Naveen-ul-Haq have returned to the squad, while Hazratullah Zazai and Zubaid Akbari have been left out from the previous lineup.

As part of their preparations for the tournament, Afghanistan will participate in a tri-nation T20 series involving Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, starting August 29.

Afghanistan will kick off their Asia Cup campaign on September 9 against Hong Kong. They will also face Bangladesh and defending champions Sri Lanka in the group stage.
