Afghanistan pulls out of T20 tri-nation series in Pakistan
Afghanistan has withdrawn from the upcoming T20 Tri-Nation Series following Pakistani airstrikes that killed three local cricketers in Paktika province.
The series—featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka—was scheduled to be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 17 to 29.
In a statement posted on X on Friday (October 17), the Afghanistan Cricket Board said the players were returning to Sharan after a friendly match when their vehicle was hit by a Pakistani air raid.
The board said the withdrawal was a mark of respect for the deceased players.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet issued any official statement on the incident.
