Air India flight makes emergency landing in Thailand following bomb threat
An Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi made an emergency landing in Thailand on Friday after receiving a bomb threat onboard, Reuters reported, citing officials at Phuket airport.
Flight AI 379 safely landed, and emergency procedures were promptly activated, an airport official told Reuters.
Passengers were escorted off the plane in accordance with the emergency protocols, an Airports of Thailand (AOT) official said.
Following a preliminary search, authorities reported no explosive device was found on the aircraft.
The flight, carrying 156 passengers, took off from Phuket airport at 9:30 a.m. local time (0230 IST) but made a wide circle over the Andaman Sea before returning to Phuket, according to flight tracker Flightradar24.
The Airports of Thailand did not disclose further details regarding the bomb threat.
