Allu Arjun’s film ‘Raaka’ in Guinness Book of Records even before release

The much-awaited film ‘Raaka’ of Allu Arjun and director Atlee has set a world record even before release. The film has written its name in Guinness World Records by motion-capturing 37 performers together in real time. ‘Raaka’ received the official recognition of this record on September 15.

The film has made this record in the ‘Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time’ category. The physical movements of 37 persons together were captured during the shooting in February of the current year. Later the matter was officially recognized from the side of Guinness World Records and the certificate was handed over to Allu Arjun and Atlee.

92 optical motion-capture cameras were used in this huge activity. Along with this there was the arrangement of facial capture, calibration, networking, synchronization and real-time visualization. Capturing the movements of such a large number of performers separately and accurately at the same time was the biggest challenge technologically.

It has been informed from the side of the makers of the film that a specially large-scale motion-capture arrangement was created for this record. The necessary technology and equipment were brought from the United States and their own motion-capture facility was built in India. This technological arrangement is being seen as one of the biggest features of ‘Raaka’.

‘Raaka’ is being made on a budget of about 800 crore rupees. Deepika Padukone is acting with Allu Arjun in the film under the production of Sun Pictures. Atlee is directing the film. It has been learnt that VFX and performance capture technology are being used extensively in the film.

After achieving the Guinness record Allu Arjun has mentioned it as a moment of pride for the entire team. According to him this success has come due to the planning and leadership of Atlee and the collective effort of the entire team. Atlee has also informed that although he has heard of Guinness World Records since childhood, making a place there through his own film is a special feeling for him.

‘Raaka’ has not yet been released in the theatres. Various film-based sources have mentioned the release year of the film as 2027. However even before release this film of Allu Arjun and Atlee has come up in discussion from the technological aspect by setting the world record of real-time motion capture of 37 performers together.
