Amitabh Bachchan reveals his biggest life regret

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has revealed that his biggest personal regret is never learning to play a musical instrument, despite collecting several instruments at home.

The 84-year-old actor shared the admission while interacting with a contestant, Kritagya, on the 18th season of his long-running quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Asked whether he would rather relive a memorable day or experience a new milestone, Bachchan chose the latter, saying he would like to experience the day he finally learns to play an instrument.

“I had a deep desire to learn music, but it never happened,” Bachchan said. He added that watching singers, musicians and sitar players perform often makes him regret not pursuing music.

The veteran actor joked that he has collected almost every kind of musical instrument and keeps them decorated at home, hoping he will eventually learn to play them.

Although he never received formal instrumental training, Bachchan has also enjoyed a successful stint as a playback singer. He made his singing debut with “Mere Pass Aao Mere Dosto” in Mr. Natwarlal in 1979 and later lent his voice to popular songs including “Rang Barse” and “Neela Aasman” in Silsila.

He returned to the recording studio in the 2000s and has since contributed vocals to films including Baghban, Bol Bachchan, Kahaani, Wazir, Shamitabh and 102 Not Out.

Bachchan is currently hosting the 18th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
