Amzad resigns as BCB director after removal from media committee

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Amzad Hussain has resigned from his position.

He made the announcement during a media briefing on Monday.

The development came a day after he was replaced as chairman of the BCB’s media committee by fellow director Md Mokhsedul Kamal.

Amzad said his resignation was based on personal grounds, though he indicated that the decision also stemmed from his removal from the media committee role.

He added that he was not informed of the specific reasons behind his replacement.

“I wasn’t told specifically why it happened. It was the board’s decision, which I respect. Possibly the decision was taken through discussion on an online call,” he said.

Earlier this month, the National Sports Council (NSC) formed a five-member committee to investigate alleged irregularities in the most recent BCB elections. Commenting on the matter, Amzad said the election process could have been more transparent.
