An accident, a connection: 'Love Sitter' arrives this Eid

On the third day of Eid, the OTT platform Bongo is releasing the web film 'Love Sitter'. Based on a story by Shahzada Mamun, the film is co-directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury and Mushfika Masud.

The narrative of 'Love Sitter' revolves around the loneliness people feel even amidst the crowds of a big city. A strange incident occurs during a train journey from Chattogram to Dhaka – Abir's beloved pet cat Hypnosis accidentally ends up in Abir's bag. What initially seems like a small mishap gradually creates an unexpected connection between two lonely individuals. The film explores how a small creature can become a bridge between human emotions.

Director Mushfika Masud shared that countless animals on city streets wait for a little affection and shelter. While a pet may be just a part of a human's life, to that animal, the human is its entire world. This sentiment is the basis of 'Love Sitter's story. In her words, "Through the three characters of Abir, Hridi and the little cat Hypnosis, we have tried to tell a human story of affection, responsibility and incomplete love."

On the other hand, Amitabh Reza Chowdhury said, "The hustle of city life often leaves people in an invisible loneliness. 'Love Sitter' is the story of a peculiar relationship born from that loneliness." According to him, love isn't always found in grand dramatic events; sometimes it manifests silently, simply, yet through profound human emotions.

Regarding this, Bongo's Chief of Content Mushfiqur Rahman remarked, "The story of two people coming closer because of a cat is as simple as it is emotional. We hope this tale of love and empathy for animals will evoke a special feeling in the audience."

Produced under the banner of AM Cinema, the lead roles in 'Love Sitter' are played by Ziaul Haque Polash and Sadia Ayman.

A special premiere show of the web film was organised on Sunday at Star Cineplex in SKyS Tower, Mohakhali. The screening was attended by the directors, cast, crew and media representatives.

Even before its release, the film's concept and narrative have sparked curiosity among audiences. 'Love Sitter' attempts to portray human loneliness, affection and the subtle nuances of connection, all centred around a little cat.
