Anupam Roy and Prashmita Paul welcome baby boy

Popular singer and music composer Anupam Roy has become a father. Two years after his marriage to singer Prashmita Paul, their family has welcomed a new member. The couple shared the news jointly on social media.

Anupam Roy married singer Prashmita Paul on March 2, 2024, in a private ceremony. Now, the couple has been blessed with a son. Sharing a card with Prashmita, Anupam wrote, "We are delighted to announce that we have a son."

The news of Prashmita's pregnancy had been somewhat known earlier, but the couple had kept the matter largely private. Since the birth announcement, the couple has been flooded with well-wishes from fans.

This is Anupam's third marriage. As both are from the music industry, they had known each other for a long time. Their friendship gradually turned into love. Like their wedding, the couple wanted to keep the arrival of their child private, but eventually chose to share the happy news themselves.

Previously, Anupam had a nearly five-year marriage with Pia Chakraborty, which ended in divorce in 2021. Pia later married actor Parambrata Chatterjee. Around the same time, Anupam and Prashmita also began their new journey together. Coincidentally, Pia and Parambrata also welcomed a son last June. With Anupam-Prashmita also having a son, a new duo has joined the list of new parents in Tollywood.

Prashmita Paul is also a well-known name in the music industry. She gained recognition by lending her voice to the song 'Sajna' from the 2012 film 'Bojhena She Bojhena', and won the Radio Mirchi Music Award for Best Upcoming Female Singer in 2014 for that song. She has also sung for the film 'Open Tee Bioscope'. Currently, she is also the lead vocalist of the band 'Uran'.
