Popular Indian singer-songwriter Anupam Roy's much-anticipated solo concert in Dhaka has been postponed for a second time, with organisers citing a last-minute directive from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs despite completing all required preparations and official approvals.

The concert, titled "One True Sound with Anupam Roy," was scheduled to take place on August 1.

In a statement posted on Facebook late Wednesday (July 29), organiser Triple Time Communication said all necessary arrangements, permissions and administrative formalities had been completed ahead of the event.

However, after the process was finalised, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs instructed the organisers not to proceed with the concert due to what it described as "unavoidable reasons."

As a result, the event has been postponed until further notice.

The organisers said the decision had disappointed thousands of fans, ticket holders, the artist, sponsors and all stakeholders associated with the event.

They added that they would respect the government's decision and comply with the directives of the relevant authorities.

Triple Time Communication also announced that all ticket holders will receive full refunds through the official ticketing platform.

This is the second postponement of the concert. It was originally scheduled to be held in Dhaka on June 26, but was deferred at the last moment before being rescheduled for August 1.

No new date for the concert has been announced.
