Apurba to play role of investigative journalist

Popular actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba is returning to the OTT platform after two years. This time he will be seen in the role of an investigative journalist. The new web series is called Headline, which is produced by Saleh Sobhan Auneem.

The series will be released on the Hoichoi platform on June 25. The trailer, which has already been released, has created interest among the audience. The trailer highlights the professional challenges of journalism, irregularities and corruption in the circle of power, personal crises, and various aspects of human relationships.

Earlier, Apurba won praise for playing the role of a police officer in the Golam Mamun series directed by producer Shihab Shahin in 2024. This time, he will appear in the role of journalist Zahir.

Regarding his character, Apurba said, Zahir's character has different layers. He will be seen in different forms at different stages of the story. Sometimes he is emotional, and sometimes he is forced to make important decisions while facing difficult realities. Such multi-layered characters always attract him as an actor.

The eight-episode series also stars Yash Rohan, Afsan Ara Bindu, Sarika Sabrin, Shyamal Mawla, Farhana Hamid, Rai Rajnya and many others.

Afsan Ara Bindu is also returning to OTT after almost three years through this series. She said that she is eagerly waiting to see the audience's reaction.

Yash Rohan said that his character 'Samiul' in the series is a character for which he has been waiting throughout his career. He also said that he has tried his best to make the character real.

Those concerned hope that 'Headline', which focuses on the behind-the-scenes stories of journalism, the realities of the inner circle of power and human tensions, will become a different experience for the audience.
