Arab foreign ministers condemn Israeli strike, call for de-escalation

Foreign ministers of Arab League member states have strongly condemned Israel’s military assault on Iran. In a joint statement, they said the attack on the sovereignty of a UN member state is a blatant violation of international law and represents a serious threat to regional peace and security.

According to a report by TRT World, the Arab foreign ministers called for immediate regional and international action to prevent further escalation of the situation. They also stressed the importance of a full ceasefire.

The emergency meeting took place in Turkey's Istanbul, where the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is also being held on June 21–22.
