Arifin Shuvoo to lead in Bollywood web series ‘Jazz City’

Bangladeshi film star Arifin Shuvoo is set to make a high‑profile debut in a Bollywood web series, taking on a central role in Sony LIV’s upcoming production ‘Jazz City’, entertainment insiders confirm.

Officially unveiled with the release of its teaser on December 16, Jazz City positions Shuvoo as Jimmy Roy, a key figure around whom the narrative revolves. The teaser shows Shuvoo in striking retro 1970s looks, alternating between sharp grey suits and vibrant dance sequences, reflecting the series’ stylistic period setting.

Set against the backdrop of the 1970s and the Bangladesh Liberation War era, the series is written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Soumik Sen, known for his work on the hit show Jubilee.

In Jazz City, Shuvoo’s character delivers dialogue in multiple languages including Bangla, Hindi, Urdu and English, showcasing his versatility on a multinational platform.

Shuvoo is paired opposite Indian actress Sauraseni Mitra, with several well‑known Bollywood and regional actors also in the ensemble cast. Sony LIV has slated Jazz City for release on February 6, 2026, in Hindi, Bangla and English versions for audiences across markets.
