Arrest warrant issued against Hero Alam

A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant against popular content creator Ashraful Alam alias Hero Alam.

Hero Alam's wife Riya Moni filed a case against Hero Alam and Ahsan Habib Selim with the capital's Hatirjheel Police Station on charges of attempted murder, assault and intimidation.

In light of that complaint, Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Wahiduzzaman's court issued this order on Wednesday (November 12).

According to the case statement, a rift recently arose between Hero Alam and the plaintiff Riya Moni. After that, Hero Alam divorced the plaintiff and threw her out of the house.

On June 21, he was called to a house under the Hatirjheel Police Station to settle the matter with the plaintiff's family. It is alleged that at that time, 10-12 unidentified persons including Hero Alam started verbally abusing the plaintiff and his family members.

Later, they illegally entered the plaintiff's current house and beat her up with wooden sticks. The plaintiff suffered injuries in this attack. In addition, the complaint also states that a gold chain weighing 'one and a half bhori' was stolen from her neck during this time. In this incident, the plaintiff Riya Moni filed a case with Hatirjheel Police Station on June 23.

The plaintiff's lawyer Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury said: "The accused have violated the bail conditions. They are not appearing in court properly. Therefore, we have applied for cancellation of their bail. After the hearing, the court cancelled their bail and ordered the issuance of arrest warrants."
